Our story
From the field to the boardroom and back again
Jason Brown founded Pioneering Risk Solutions after a career spanning military service, executive leadership and hands on HSE delivery.
Army service
His time in the army shaped the business name and the mindset behind it: pioneering practical solutions rather than following the crowd.
Executive leadership
An executive role overseeing risk, assurance, governance and HSE within a major zinc refinery.

Jason Brown
Founder and principal consultant
Jason brings executive level risk, assurance, governance and HSE experience, including leadership within a major zinc refinery, alongside hands on delivery on remote Defence related projects. A veteran and Bachelor of Business Administration graduate, he also holds an Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety, is an AICD graduate and is qualified as a Lead auditor, ICAM investigator and HAZOP facilitator. Jason works directly with every client, from initial scope through to delivery.

Collaborative capability
Specialist expertise when projects require additional scale
Pioneering Risk Solutions extends its delivery capability through trusted relationships with highly experienced specialist consultants. On selected engagements, we collaborate with Marc David Meers Consulting, providing additional senior-level WHS, rail safety and major infrastructure expertise.
This relationship enables us to support larger or concurrent engagements, assemble capability around individual project requirements and maintain continuity when additional specialist resources are needed.
Marc David Meers
Principal Consultant, Marc David Meers Consulting
Marc is an accomplished WHS and rail safety leader with extensive experience across major transport infrastructure, tunnelling, construction and rail operations.
His project experience includes significant Queensland infrastructure developments such as Brisbane's Airport Link Tunnel and the Gold Coast Light Rail project. He has also held senior leadership positions including General Manager Health and Safety at Downer and DT Infrastructure, and currently works at director level within Queensland's transport environment.
Marc brings decades of practical experience across safety leadership, operational excellence, risk management and regulatory compliance, supporting organisations working in complex and high-risk environments.
Together, Pioneering Risk Solutions and Marc David Meers Consulting provide complementary senior expertise, scalable delivery capability and pragmatic, solutions-focused advice for complex infrastructure and operational environments.
